The mighty and conscientious green warriors of Sacred Heart School’s Eco Club, powered by the able guidance of Mrs Vijaya Jebakumar, Principal & Chief Patron, Eco Club, Mr P C Sekar, President, Eco Club and Mr K. Balaji, Vice President, Eco Club and a team of enthusiastic pupils volunteered to commemorate on the noble cause of “International Mother Earth Day” on 22 April 2025 at Sacred Heart School Campus, Dosanj Road, Moga. Punjab.

Being at the forefront, a collaboration was done with the youthful and vigorous cadets of National Cadet Corps led by Third Officer Mr Babish Bisht in a tree plantation drive as a part of ecosystem restoration especially by planting sapling that have varied medicinal beneficial properties for all ages.

In addition to the NCC team, the green warriors team include Master Anmolpreet Singh (XII-NMed), Master Eknoor Singh (XII-NMed), Master Raghavdeep Goyal (XII-NMed), Miss Harnoor Kaur (XII-NMed), Miss Satuti Syal (XII-NMed), Master Deeprehraas Singh Jandu (XII-SMed), Miss Yadveer Kaur (XII-SMed), Miss Tajveer Kaur (XII-SMed), Miss Sukhman Kaur (XII-SMed), Miss Harleen Kaur (XII-SMed), Miss Divnoor Kaur (X-Beryl), Miss Simran Kaur (X-Beryl), Master Manmeet Singh (X-Jade), Master Hitesh (IX-Opal), Master Jashandeep Singh Gill (IX-Opal), Master Jujhar Singh (IX-Opal), Master Rajkaran Singh (IX-Opal), Master Vihaan Taneja (IX-Opal) and Master Shubnoor Singh (IX-Zircon) who brought saplings belonging to Azadirachta indica, Syzygium, Aloe barbedensis, Murraya koenigii, Zinnia, Morus alba, Mentha, Catharanthus roseus, Psidium guava, Elettaria cardamomum, Ficus benghalensis, Bursera linanoe, Tageta spp., Hibiscus rosa sinensis, Chlorophytum comosum, Araucaria columnaris, Ocimum tenuiflorum, Portulaca grandiflora, Solanum melongena , Helianthus annus, etc.,

This thoughtful act by the young generation not only add elements to increase the green cover but beyond that will serve for the benefit of humanity and survival of other species by fulfilling key targets earmarked for United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 13, Climate Change; Goal No.14, Life Below Water and Goal No.15, Life above land.
